We need someone new to join our innovative HealthCareHome practice (see www.healthcarehome.co.nz for more information on this innovative model of care). You will be in a well-supported clinical setting where you can enhance your clinical skills, and be a part of new, exciting and innovative healthcare delivery; as well as continue your own professional development. You will be part of a team of nine GPs, two nurse practitioners, 13 nurses and an administration support team of 13 staff. WHY TAUPO

Great Lake Taupō is at the centre of New Zealand's North Island. The area is rich in natural resources including geothermal energy, land and water. Farming, forestry, commerce, tourism and hospitality are the lead industries for this large town with a regional population of around 27,300. It's a scenic drive or less than a one-hour flight from Auckland or Wellington. Lake Taupō is the largest fresh water lake in New Zealand, and is surrounded by rivers, forests and protected natural areas, including Tongariro National Park, a dual World Heritage site. Locals call it 'the ultimate playground', with just about every outdoor activity on offer. It's known as a mecca for mountain biking, trout fishing, snow skiing and golf and most weekends see a range of cultural, sports and entertainment events happening. The town boasts excellent education facilities from pre-school to tertiary and is well-serviced commercially. Taupō hospital has a 24/7 emergency department, inpatient and day units, a theatre, maternity, radiology and outpatient clinics run by medical consultants and visiting specialists. Rotorua base hospital is less than an hour away by road.
