What is ‘Heidi’?
Heidi is computer software that uses Artificial Intelligence (AI). It lets your clinician focus fully on you during your visit, while still capturing the important medical details. This helps keep a clear, accurate record of your care and gives you and your clinician more time together.
How does it work?
Heidi listens to your visit and uses AI to create a summary with the important points, like your symptoms, medical history, the diagnosis discussed, and any treatment or follow-up plans. It automatically ignores anything that isn’t relevant to your health.
Before anything is added to your patient record, your clinician will review the notes to make sure they’re correct and accurate. You are also able to check over your notes yourself.
Do I have to give my consent?
Your consent is crucial.
All clinical staff must obtain your consent before using AI with you, every time.
You can withdraw your consent at any time, and an alert can be added to your file, so you aren’t asked again in the future.
Your care will not be affected if you choose not to use AI during your visit – the choice is with you.
What is provided to Heidi?
Your information is not used for training, research, or shared with any third party.
With Heidi, a written copy of your visit is briefly handled and securely stored within Heidi’s secure systems* for up to 30 days, so your clinician can review it. After this, it is permanently deleted from Heidi.
Your information is stored securely and can only be accessed by those directly involved in your care.
Is the audio recorded?
Audio recordings are not saved. They are deleted as soon as they have been turned into text.
The final written copy is securely stored in your patient file along with the notes. It is only opened when needed for your care, or when you ask for it.
