What is ‘Heidi’?
Heidi is computer software that uses Artificial Intelligence, which enables your clinician to focus entirely on you during your visit, while still capturing important medical details accurately – helping to ensure a clear and complete record of your care while giving more time to you and your clinician.
How does it work?
Heidi listens to your consultation and uses AI to create a summary of the consultation with important points like your symptoms, medical history, the diagnosis discussed, and any treatment or follow-up plans. It automatically ignores any discussions that aren’t relevant to your health.
Before anything is added to your patient record, your clinician will review the notes to make sure they’re correct and accurate.
Do I have to give my consent?
Your consent is crucial.
All clinical staff must obtain your consent before using AI with you.
You can withdraw your consent at any time, and an alert can be added to your file, so you aren’t asked again in the future.
How is my information used by AI?
Your information is not used for training, research, or shared with any third party.
With Heidi, the transcript is temporarily processed and securely stored for up to 10 days to allow your clinician to review it. After this, it is permanently deleted from Heidi.
Your information is stored securely and can only be accessed by those directly involved in your care.
Is the audio recorded?
Audio recordings are not saved and are deleted immediately after being transcribed into text.
The final transcript is securely stored in your patient file along with the generated notes. The transcript is accessed only when necessary for your care or on your request.
