Q: Why is this price change occurring?
A: Medical practices in New Zealand are facing considerable challenges right now. While the Government has offered some support to help local health practitioners adjust their consultation fees, it hasn’t been enough to cover the increasing costs that GP practices are experiencing. Consequently, we need to raise the fee for your GP visit.
Q: When will the new fees take effect?
A: The new consultation fee will take effect on 14th October 2024.
Q: How much will the new consultation fee be?
A: The consultation fee will increase by $10, changing the GP consultation fee from $19.50 to $29.50 per visit.
Q: Does this new consultation fee apply to everyone?
A: No, this fee change applies only to patients over 18 years old who do not hold a Community Services Card.
Q: Will this fee increase affect all types of consultations?
A: This adjustment is specific to standard consultation visits. Other services may have additional charges based on their nature, but the current fee structure for those services will remain unchanged.
Q: Is this only happening at this practice?
A: No, this change is being implemented at most medical practices across New Zealand. However, fees may vary from practice to practice.
Q: Will there be any changes to other services or treatments?
A: At this time, the fee adjustment only affects consultation visits. There are no planned changes to other services or treatments.

A: The new fee will apply to all consultations from Monday 14th October 2024.
Q: What if I have a Community Services Card?
