KIA ORA, LAKE SURGERY!
As you are aware, national wait times to see your health provider continue to be longer than you or Taupō Medical Centre would prefer. A prime driver is the continuing shortage of GPs and other health providers that presently exists in Aotearoa New Zealand.
To help address this, Lake Surgery and Taupō Medical Centre are combining their teams from the 21st August 2023. This combined team will operate from Taupō Medical Centre’s present practice building at 117 Te Heuheu Street, Taupō.
As a result of this merger, two new, highly experienced doctors will join the combined medical team.
Dr. Rathnayake is joining us from Australia, where he has been working as a GP in Townsville, Queensland.
In addition, Dr. Minyard, who has 25 years of GP experience in the USA, will arrive in early September.
We were also fortunate to have Dr. Anat Enden-Izhaki from Israel join the Taupō Medical Centre team in February.
Through the combination of the clinical resources of the two practices, we expect wait times to reduce. Additionally, our team-based approach to patient health care will allow us to broaden the range of medical services available and offer a more comprehensive approach to your healthcare needs.
We thank you for your patience and loyalty, and we hope you will join us in welcoming our new team members.
Lake Surgery Patient? You do not need to re-enroll. Your enrolment and MyIndici account will be automatically brought over to Taupō Medical Centre on the 21st of August.
