Covid Traffic Light Framework-RED

Taupo is currently in the RED setting of the Traffic Light Framework.

We hope you all had an enjoyable and safe time over the Xmas/New Year period.
Unfortunately Covid is still with us and now the Omicron variant appears to be in the New Zealand community.
While we watch to see how things develop over the next few weeks, we are not going to make any significant changes to how we operate. That said, we will put a person on the clinic’s front door again and they will ask a few pre-screening questions.
What we are asking of you, is if you have a sore throat, a cough or feel unwell (i.e. you have flu-like symptoms), please let us know either when you call or when you talk to our front door staff member.
We are now doing Covid vaccinations and boosters, so we do have more people in the clinic at times. So it’s even more important that you tell us that you have any symptoms. If you do have symptoms we can still help you. We will just need to see you in a special consultation area.
As we say, it’s a “business as usual” approach at this time, but with a very close eye on developments.

We appreciate your patience in regards to this, it is our aim to keep you and our staff ‘safe’.

We do not have a walk in clinic, please call us on 07-3784080 or Healthline on 0800-358 454.

Please advise if you have any Covid-19 symptoms.

COVID-19 symptoms include:

  • -new or worsening cough
  • -fever of at least 38°C
  • -shortness of breath
  • -sore throat
  • -sneezing and runny nose
  • -temporary loss of smell.

These symptoms do not necessarily mean you have COVID-19. The symptoms are like other illnesses that are much more common, such as colds and flu. Shortness of breath is a sign of possible pneumonia and requires immediate medical attention.

Less common symptoms:

  • -diarrhoea
  • -headache
  • -muscle pain
  • -nausea and vomiting
  • -confusion and irritability
